So what’s new on Inis Mór?

Well first of all, we welcomed real life visitors for the bank holiday weekend there for the first time in far too long. It was so good to see all the happy faces arriving on the ferries at Kilronan and to see so many people finally getting to enjoy our Seaview Chalets and our newly decked massive balcony overlooking the Wild Atlantic.

Something else exciting launched in June …. Our friends at Aran Islands Ferries announced their new direct sailing from Galway City to Inis Mór. Anyone who has passed by Galway Docks recently will no doubt have noticed the gorgeous (and huge) ‘Saoirse na Farraige – Freedom of the Sea’, a state of the art, purpose built, 400 seater passenger ferry.

It will take 90 minutes to cruise smoothly in luxury to Inis Mór from Galway Docks, compared with a 40 minute trip from Rosaveel, Galway. However, on route you will not be bored, with all the contrasting beauty and scenery of the spectacular Wild Atlantic Way coastline of Connemara and Clare along with all three of the Aran Islands, Inis Oirr and Inis Meáin before docking in Kilronan on Inis Mór, the largest of the three Aran Islands. Plus the return journey to Galway City has a surprise for passengers, as they will cruise along the iconic Cliffs of Moher, which is just spectacular from the sea!

We have limited availability over the summer, so when you see a deal on our offers page or social media …. GRAB IT, and tick our Seaview Chalets off your ‘Feck-it List’ this summer!

Eat, Sleep, Explore, Repeat at the Aran Islands Hotel

The new route departs daily at 9.30am daily from Galway City Docks to Inis Mór, so why not try something different, perhaps a magical Galway Bay journey to Inis Mór and the Cliffs of Moher and a tasty meal at the Aran Islands Hotel.
